Egyptian jasmine

Jasmine is the 'queen of flowers' in perfumery, a flower of such chemical complexity that it alone contains hundreds of odorous molecules. Grasse jasmine (jasmine absolute) is the ultimate quality standard, used in the great classics of French perfumery. Jasmine sambac, more exotic and juicy, is very present in oriental perfumery. These two facets are often confused but are quite distinct.

Jasmine has a unique duality: it can be floral, green, slightly animalic and almost insolent all at once. On the skin it takes over the other notes and leaves a rich white-floral sillage. Jasmine fragrances generally have remarkable longevity.

Egyptian jasmine is mainly used as a heart note, the central identity of the composition. It belongs to the following olfactory families: Floral, Floral Chypre, Floral Oriental, Floral Water, Floral Aldehydic, Floral Woody — floral notes run through almost every olfactory family and act as a bridge between lightness and depth.
