Patchouli is a plant native to South-East Asia whose dried leaves yield an earthy, camphoraceous essential oil. Long misunderstood in the West because of its association with the 1970s, patchouli has been rehabilitated by niche perfumery. It can be green and fresh (recent extraction) or dark and warm (aged extraction). In the base of a composition it brings depth, sillage and exceptional longevity.
