The art of applying perfume so it lasts all day
Applying perfume is a gesture you can learn. Discover the professionals' techniques for maximising the longevity and projection of your fragrance.
Pulse points
Apply your perfume to the body's pulse points: wrists, nape of the neck, inside the elbows, behind the ears and behind the knees. Body heat naturally diffuses the fragrance throughout the day.
Don't rub
Contrary to popular belief, rubbing your wrists together after applying damages the aromatic molecules and alters the perfume. Simply let it dry in the air.
A moisturised base
Perfume lasts much longer on moisturised skin. Apply an unscented cream before your fragrance — it creates a base that extends longevity by several hours.
Scenting your clothes
For subtle, long-lasting diffusion, lightly spray your clothes (avoid silk and delicate fabrics). Fibres hold on to aromatic molecules very effectively.
Storing your perfume
Keep your bottles away from light and heat, ideally in their original box. Avoid the bathroom (humidity + heat). A well-stored perfume keeps for 3 to 5 years without deteriorating.
