What is a perfume decant?

Definition: what is a perfume decant?

A perfume decant is a portion taken directly from a fragrance's original bottle. The perfume is transferred into a small glass atomiser — usually 2ml, 5ml or 10ml — so it can be offered in a discovery size.

Unlike paper blotters or the plastic vials often handed out in department stores, a decant contains the perfume in its exact formula, at the same concentration as the full bottle. No dilution, no reformulation.

Why buy a decant rather than a full bottle?

A bottle of niche perfume is often an investment of €100 to €400. Before committing that kind of budget, trying the scent on a blotter or during a quick visit to a shop simply isn't enough. A 5ml decant gives you 2 to 3 weeks of daily wear.

How are BrazaScent decants prepared?

At BrazaScent, every decant is prepared from original bottles bought from official retailers. The perfume is transferred into a glass atomiser that has been carefully cleaned and sterilised.

BrazaScent is independent and is not affiliated with the brands mentioned. Brand names are used for information purposes only, to identify the products.
